Five Ways to Be More Productive

How productive you are in your day-to-day schedule can highly impact your life, and especially your mood! So, today I want to share my top five tips for staying productive:

1. Time Block
Make a list of everything you need to accomplish that day, putting times next to appointments/scheduled events. Then with all the other tasks you have to do that day, set out a block of time in which you need to complete that activity. For example, tomorrow I need to go grocery shopping, work out, go to work (LOL), teach my dance classes, and set aside some time for blogging. I will block out going to my accounts from 11-5, dance from 530-830, (since those are all set times) and then for all my other tasks I will schedule them around those times. This helps you visually look at what all you need to accomplish, so you don’t spend too much unnecessary time on one task.
2. Stay Clean
This may sound kind of odd, but trust me it works. Instead of throwing your jacket and your keys on the chair when you walk in the door, hang them up and keep it clean. If you keep your environment clean around you, it helps your mind stay focused/keeps your anxiety levels low.
3. Drink Water & Coffee First Thing
I noticeably can tell a difference in my productivity for the day if I don’t drink a glass of water and a cup of coffee right when I get out of bed. Most people do drink coffee right when they wake up, but the glass of water is the really important part. Drinking a glass of water right when you wake up helps immediately hydrate and waken your body to give you needed energy for the rest of the day.
4. Put your Phone Down
Oh yes, I said it. This may be the hardest thing to do, BUT if you put your phone away for at least an hour in your morning you will be WAY more productive. If you are working/cant be away from your phone, put your phone on loud so you will hear it if you really need to grab it, but keep it put up otherwise. You will be amazed at how much you get accomplished without it being in your hand 😉
5. Get Ready
Make a conscious effort to get ready (hair, makeup, etc.). If you feel and look good, you are going to be more confident and productive throughout the day!
Make today a productive one!
