I am so excited to finally share all about my Punta Cana trip with y’all! This trip was an absolute dream and I want to go right back to laying on the beach at the gorgeous Sanctuary Resort.

When we arrived in Punta Cana the transportation was a little hectic, so if you travel there I would highly recommend knowing exactly what company/where to go right when you get off the plane, so you do not get lost. Once we got to the resort, it was a little village of it’s own. There were all types of restaurants (pizza, burgers, italian, sushi, etc.) and shops to explore, as well as multiple pools to relax at. We stayed in a gorgeous private house that was on the property. The backyard had a private pool that faced the ocean, which was an absolutely GORGEOUS view to wake up to in the morning! The first day we really just relaxed and explored the resort. We did go have pizza at the pizzeria on the grounds though and it was so GOOD! They made it fresh out of a brick oven and served it right to your table.

The rest of the days we were there the majority of what we did consisted of lounging by the pool/beach and having dinner at a different restaurant. The main pool that we would hang out by had a swim up bar and overlooked the ocean which was such a breathtaking view! There was also another pool that was an infinity pool and it overlooked the back half of the resort. Basically, all the pools had incredible views LOL.

On the beach, during lunch, they would have a chef out there cooking for a few hours, which I found very convenient because you could snack several times (hi, i love food lol). The resort staff also would have events throughout the day by the pool/beach such as water Zumba, Spanish lessons, fresh coconut water handouts, etc.

As far as the food went, I did not have the best of luck at first. I actually ended up getting very sick the second day from the food, which wasn’t the best, but I definitely just made sure to watch what I ate from the buffet after that! Anyone remember Charlotte from Sex and the City when they go to Mexico and she eats the yogurt packs? That was me at breakfast LOL. I will say I think I just maybe had some bad luck, because their food was really good, especially their omelet stations they had in the morning at the buffet! My favorite restaurant at the Sanctuary Resort was by far the Wok Restaurant. Their food was hands down some of the best Japanese food I have ever had! Their sushi was so good my dad and brother actually ordered even more after they were done! Second to that, we loved Fusion, where they cooked and danced right in front of you. Fusion was a very cool concept because there was new menu and multiple courses, where each course was paired with a different cocktail. It was also a lot of fun because we went to Fusion on my brother’s birthday so they brought out a cake and sang for him, which I thought was so nice! Also, big shoutout to our house butler, Eric! If y’all ever go to Sanctuary Punta Cana, ask for him because he can solve anything. He decked out our house in balloons for my brother’s birthday AND solved the largest issue on the trip: how to inflate my giant swan float. LOL.

We did venture out of the resort one afternoon to go on a waterfall excursion. Safari-style Jeeps picked us up and took us to what was like a massive meeting point for any activities you could do there. From there we were taken through the woods/jungle area (I guess thats what you would call it??) to an AMAZING cliff view of the ocean. From there, they took us to a small cottage that would have been what the natives lived like when they first came to the Dominican and behind that cottage was the waterfall. I will say, it was fairly obvious that the waterfall was mostly manmade. Don’t get me wrong it was a fun excursion, but I would probably suggest doing the zip line.

Lets talk about what I wore! Swimsuits and tropical outfits were pretty much the only thing I packed! I was extremely lucky to have Apricot Lane in Dallas help me with pretty much all of my adorable outfits I wore in Punta Cana! They hands down have the BEST selection of vacation clothes. The exciting news is most of what I am wearing is 40% off in the store right now. So if you are a Dallas local, I would definitely stop by their Galleria Mall location. For an extra discount on anything, you can give them the code NIKKI20 for 20% off your entire purchase in store or online! I will link all my outfit/swimsuits directly under each photo and down below to make it easy for y’all!

If y’all have any questions at all about what I did, saw, wore in Punta Cana, don’t hesitate to leave it in the comments below!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!
